Come and work for us as a Community Mental Health Support Worker

We're looking for several new people to join our friendly team in this rewarding role.  You don't need specific experience or qualifications - if we think you're right for the job we'll train you, and help you to get a Level 2 qualification in Mental Health while you work.

We're looking for people who care deeply about mental health, want to support people to live happy and fulfilling lives, and who have the right personality and potential for this job.  Of course, if you already have relevant experience or qualifications, that's great too.

Here's what some of our current support workers say about working for Independence Trust:

"You'd be joining an extremely supportive team - the team often feels like a family"

"I feel it's great working in a small team, and I really value the regular, confidential one-to-one support from my line manager - something I've found lacking in other organisations I've worked for"

You'll be based in our offices near Gloucester Cathedral, with much of your work taking place in the community, and opportunities for remote working.  We have full-time (35-hour) and part-time (18-hour and 28-hour) posts available:

  • 1x 18hr Bridge Builder in Stroud locality (also covering South Cotswolds)
  • 1x 28hr Bridge Builder in Cheltenham locality (also covering Tewkesbury and North Cotswolds)
  • 1x 35hr Peer Support Worker to be based with the Gloucester Team (also covering Forest of Dean)

The starting salary is £19,000, rising to £20,000 (pro rata if part-time) after a successful probationary period, with good holiday entitlement, pension scheme, health benefits, and flexible hours.

If you're interested in finding out more, please call Cynthia Kerr, Senior Operations Manager, on 01452 317460 for an informal chat.

We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully welcoming you into our team!
